The Shaktiyogashrama Cultural Awareness Programmes for Children are unique residential programmes designed to sensitise children to Indian Culture through an engagement with the classical arts, ecology, spirituality & yoga as well as holistic life styles.These programmes are an ideal foil to academic education that is largely westernised and are meant to fill in the gaps therein. In keeping with the values of an ashram-gurukul, the teaching methodology is largely that of learning by doing, by observing, by experiencing & by imitating.
The program will include modules on:
– Giving an experience of rural living in a gurukul mode
– Learning to develop the values of conservation, simplicity, contentment & patience, that natural living requires
– Experiencing classical Indian dance while learning about the planets & astronomy
– Building moral strength & character through the recitation of subhashitas (wisdom sayings in sanskrit) & inspiring stories.
– Yoga & meditation games will be an integral part of the program
